For a day at Disneyland Paris, there are six things you should never be without. The rest depends on your profile and how long you’re staying. To keep it simple, I’ve grouped everything into a checklist by category, with a 1-day version and a longer stay version.
- Your tickets in the Disneyland Paris app
- A power bank
- Comfortable shoes
- A water bottle (the water fountains are free)
- A small first aid kit
- Something for the weather (a poncho all year round, sun protection in summer, warm clothes in winter)
The checklist at a glance
| Category | 1-day visit | Stay (several days) |
|---|---|---|
| Paperwork | Tickets in the app, restaurant bookings, Premier Access and Disney PhotoPass+ if bought | Same + Magic Pass (your stay card) and hotel confirmation, travel tickets, ID |
| Tech kit | Smartphone, power bank, cable | Smartphone, power bank, cable, charger, extension lead |
| Comfort | Comfortable shoes, light backpack, water bottle | Same + outfits for each day, swimwear if there’s a pool |
| Weather | Poncho, plus sun protection or warm clothes depending on the season | Same, packed for several days |
| Health | Small kit (paracetamol, blister plasters, wipes) | Full first aid kit, wash bag, everyday medication |
| With kids | Comforter, snacks, water bottle, nappies and changing kit, ear defenders, autograph book, small games | Same + pyjamas, toys or books |
What to bring depending on how long you stay
My printable checklist
So you don’t forget anything, I’ve made two sheets to print out and tick off with a pen. Each one starts with a timeline showing what to prepare, and when.
My stay checklist (printable PDF, in French)
One A4 page: the timeline to prepare your stay, the park bag, the paperwork and the suitcase.

In your bag for the day
Here’s the detail, category by category. Tick things off as you pack your bag.
Documents and bookings
- Your tickets, printed or added to the Disneyland Paris app
- Your restaurant bookings, in the app
- Your Disney Premier Access, if you’ve bought any (in the app)
- Your Disney PhotoPass+, if you have one (in the app)
- Your hotel confirmation, if you’re staying on site
- A little cash or a contactless card for small purchases
Tech kit
- Your smartphone: it’s your ticket, your app, your Premier Access and your camera
- A power bank: the one thing you really mustn’t forget
- The charging cable that goes with your power bank
- A camera, optional, if you want better photos
Comfort
- Comfortable shoes you’ve already worn in: you walk a lot and stand for long periods
- A light backpack (15 to 30 litres is enough), easy to open at security
- A water bottle: the free water fountains let you refill it on site
- A pouch or plastic bag to keep your phone and papers dry in the rain
Health
- Blister plasters (second-skin type), as well as regular plasters
- Paracetamol for headaches
- Wipes, hand gel and tissues
- Your everyday medication if you take any, plus travel sickness tablets if thrill rides don’t agree with you
Depending on the weather
- All year round a poncho or a light waterproof jacket
- In summer cap, sun cream, sunglasses, water mister
- In winter coat, hat, gloves, scarf, hand warmer, lip balm, hand cream

Food and drink
Yes, you can bring something to snack on (sandwiches, fruit, snacks) and your own water. No alcohol, no glass containers and no large hard cool boxes. The exact rules are explained in the picnic guide (what you can bring).
With a baby or young children
With little ones, a few extra things make all the difference to your day. Here’s my list.
- A pushchair (you can hire one on site). Put a label with your name on it: the pushchair park is shared.
- Their comforter, for reassurance
- Baby changing things and what you need for feeding (milk, bottle)
- Snacks and an afternoon treat
- A suitable water bottle
- Ear defenders or earplugs for the shows and the evening fireworks
- An autograph book, for meeting the characters
- Some small games to pass the time in the queues
- A photo of your child taken that morning and a note with your number in their pocket, in case they get lost
Ear defenders are often forgotten by first-time visitors. The night-time shows and the fireworks can be loud for a toddler’s ears. They’re light, take up little space and save a lot of tears.
Extras for a stay of several days
If you’re staying overnight, add the following to your park bag.
- A suitcase with an outfit for each day
- Your wash bag
- Pyjamas
- Swimwear, if your hotel has a pool
- A charger and an extension lead to charge all your devices
- Your travel tickets (train or plane) and ID
- A luggage scale (optional), handy if you’re flying

Which bag to take, and security checks
A light 15 to 30 litre backpack is enough for the day. Go for a bag with a zip that’s easy to open at security. For your valuables, a small bum bag worn on you is handy.
Is there a maximum bag size?
Yes. Bags must not exceed 55 x 40 x 25 cm (wheels, pockets and handles included). Anything bigger, such as large hard suitcases, is refused at the park entrances. Paid luggage storage is available outside the parks, near the entrance, where you can leave a large bag.
Are bags checked at the entrance?
Yes, every bag is checked at the entrance. A security officer opens and inspects bags, often along with a walk through a metal detector. You put your phone and metal items in a tray. It’s a lot like airport security. Arrive a little early so you don’t lose time in the queue.
What not to bring
Check your bag before you leave so you don’t have to turn back at security. Here are the banned items, confirmed for 2026.
- Alcohol and glass containers (bottles)
- Selfie sticks, tripods, monopods and stabilisers longer than 20 cm when extended
- Large, hard cool boxes over the size limit
- Weapons and anything that looks like a weapon
- Sharp or dangerous objects
For the details of each rule, see all the banned items at Disneyland Paris.
My tips
- Lighten your bag the less you carry, the more you’ll enjoy the day
- Fill your water bottle at the fountains rather than buying water
- Check the weather the day before to plan what to wear
- Pack your bag the day before and try its weight on your back
- Check the banned items before you leave so you don’t get held up at security

Frequently asked questions
01 Do you need a power bank at Disneyland Paris?
Yes, it’s the most useful thing you can bring. Your phone is your ticket, your app, your Premier Access and your camera: the battery drains fast. A good-capacity model (10,000 mAh or more) lasts the day. Don’t forget the charging cable either.
02 Is there a maximum bag size at the entrance?
Yes. Bags must not exceed 55 x 40 x 25 cm, wheels, pockets and handles included. Large hard-shell suitcases are refused: there’s a paid luggage storage service outside the parks, by the entrance.
03 Are bags checked at the entrance to Disneyland Paris?
Yes, every bag is checked at the park entrances: opened and inspected, often with a walk through a metal detector. It’s a bit like airport security. A banned item may be refused, in which case you’ll have to leave it in luggage storage or leave it behind. Arrive a little early to keep the wait down.
04 Can my child come in costume?
Yes, children under 12 can come in costume all year round, Halloween included. Masks must leave the eyes visible, and capes or accessories that trail on the ground should be avoided. From the age of 12, costumes aren’t allowed, except for medical reasons. A few special days are exceptions, such as 31 October for Halloween, when everyone can dress up.
05 Are selfie sticks and tripods allowed?
No. Selfie sticks, tripods, monopods and stabilisers longer than 20 cm when extended are banned throughout the Disney area, as are professional lenses over 135 mm. Everyday equipment (phone, compact camera) is still allowed.
06 Can you bring your own food and a picnic to Disneyland Paris?
Yes. Your own cold food is allowed (sandwiches, snacks, fruit, cakes, water bottle) in a rucksack or a small soft cool bag, and there’s a picnic area between Disney Village and the car parks. Not allowed: alcohol, glass containers, knives and large rigid cool boxes. I always pop a water bottle and some biscuits in my bag. It heads off energy slumps and queues at the counter, and it keeps the bill down.
