At a glance

At Disneyland Paris, Chuck Wagon Café is the main place to eat at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne. In keeping with the hotel’s Wild West theme, it takes diners into the world of cowboys and pioneers, complete with Toy Story references (Woody, Jessie).

The decor recreates the feel of a wagon stop and saloons: carts and covered wagons, horse saddles, lassos, cattle skulls, old lanterns, wood-beamed ceilings, and hanging lamps. An outdoor terrace is open when the weather is nice.

It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet of continental and American food with a strong Wild West flavor: grilled meats, ribs, smoked chicken, chili con carne, baked potatoes, grilled corn, pasta, fries, vegetables, vegetarian options, plus a kids’ buffet (pasta, pizza, nuggets), salads, and desserts. The restaurant also serves a breakfast buffet in the morning for hotel guests or for an extra charge. A special allergy menu is available on request, and Annual Pass discounts are accepted.

What sets it apart

A Wild West grill buffet. Designed as a stagecoach stop barn from the American West at Disney Hotel Cheyenne, this large all-you-can-eat buffet serves barbecued meats, glazed pork ribs, and chili. The wooden decor around the tables slips in subtle nods to Woody and Jessie from the Pixar movie Toy Story.

The most popular tables go fast, often several weeks ahead: I recommend booking as soon as your dates are set. Also look at the menu before you go, so you’ll know right away whether this restaurant appeals to you and won’t waste time once you’re there.

History

Chuck Wagon Café opened on April 12, 1992, along with Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne, and it’s the only large restaurant at the hotel.

The building was designed to look like the mess hall of a pioneer camp in the American West, rounding out the hotel’s main street, which was laid out like a movie set. The barn structure and original rustic fittings have never been through a major overhaul.

My verdict

Julie
Julie ★★★★½ 200+ visits since 2023

Chuck Wagon Café is the all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne, with a Wild West and Toy Story theme. What makes it stand out is the generous buffet in a western setting that’s especially good for kids.

It’s one of my favorite spots at Disneyland Paris: quite simply my favorite all-you-can-eat buffet among the Disney hotels. Plan on around €40 per adult and €22 per child at this restaurant, open since 1992, with a family-friendly Wild West atmosphere that’s really well done. Two drawbacks to know about: it only serves dinner, and the dessert choice is a bit limited. The hotel is also fairly far from the parks.

I’d recommend it for a family buffet dinner, especially with kids. It’s less suited to you if you want lunch or a wide range of desserts.

Your questions about this restaurant

01 How can I reserve a table at one of the Disneyland Paris restaurants?

There are four ways to book. The easiest is still the official Disneyland Paris app ("Dining" section), signed in to your Disney account. You can also call the reservation line at +33 1 60 30 40 50, use the official website through the Dining menu, or book in person at City Hall, Studio Services, or your Disney hotel’s concierge desk. Before you decide, I suggest you download my free file by email, which gathers every Disneyland Paris restaurant menu in one place. It makes choosing so much easier.

02 How early can I make a Disneyland Paris restaurant reservation?

The booking window depends on where you’re staying. If you’re at a Disney hotel, you can book up to 1 year ahead, as soon as your stay is confirmed. That’s a real advantage for very popular restaurants like Auberge de Cendrillon or the character buffets. If you’re coming for the day without a Disney hotel, you can book up to 2 months (60 days) ahead. You can reserve through the Disneyland Paris app, on the official website, or by phone at +33 1 60 30 40 50. My advice: book the moment the window opens for character dining and for weekend evenings or French school vacation evenings, or the time slots go fast.

03 Is it still possible to get a table the same day with no reservation?

Yes, it’s possible but not guaranteed. Some restaurants run a "walk-in line" depending on the seats that open up during the day. Go to the restaurant’s host stand and ask whether they have room. The app also shows time slots as they free up in real time (last-minute cancellations), and I check it often when I’m after a last-minute table. Otherwise, fall back on the quick-service counters and snack stands, which never require a reservation. Tip: eating lunch at off-peak times (before 12:00 or after 14:00) greatly improves your chances of getting a table without a reservation.

04 How do you cancel a Disney restaurant reservation?

Canceling is easy in the official Disneyland Paris app. Go to "Account > My dining reservations", pick the reservation you want, and confirm the cancellation. You can also cancel by phone at +33 1 60 30 40 50. Cancel as soon as you know you won’t make it: it frees up a spot for other guests and it’s a nice thing to do. Important: you can’t change the time or the number of people in your party directly in the app. If you need a change, you have two options: cancel and make a new reservation (if time slots are still open), or call the reservation line at +33 1 60 30 40 50.

05 When I book, can I request a high chair or a birthday cake, or say I’m using a meal plan?

Yes. When you book (app, phone, or website), you’ll find a "Special Request" field where you can make several requests. You can ask for a high chair for your baby, a birthday cake (at an extra charge), mention a food intolerance or allergy, or let them know you want to use your half-board meal plan. For the birthday cake, I suggest asking right when you book to be sure one is available. If you didn’t, you can also ask when you arrive at the restaurant, and they’ll try to work something out depending on what they have that day.
