Disneyland Paris tourist tax: everything you need to know

A small local tax, the Disneyland Paris tourist tax, is added to every hotel night, calculated per person per night depending on the hotel’s category. Under-18s are exempt, and in a Disney hotel booked as a package it’s already included in the price of your holiday. Here are the up-to-date amounts and a real example.

What is tourist tax?

Tourist tax is a local tax. It applies to anyone staying overnight in tourist accommodation and it’s paid per person per night.

At Disneyland Paris, it’s calculated on actual numbers (based on the number of people and nights), not as a flat rate. The amount depends on the hotel’s category: the higher the rating (in stars), the higher the tax. The hotel collects it, then passes it on to the local authority.

Who sets the tax? (Val d’Europe Agglomération)

Its amount isn’t set by Disney. It is decided by the local authority, here Val d’Europe Agglomération, which groups together the towns where the Disney hotels are (Chessy, Coupvray, Magny-le-Hongre, Serris, Bailly-Romainvilliers). The rates are reviewed every year.

In the Île-de-France region, the amounts are higher than elsewhere. On top of the local share come surcharges: a Seine-et-Marne departmental share and an additional regional tax linked to transport. That explains amounts that can come as a surprise compared with the national base rate.

Who has to pay it? (exemptions)

Only adults (18 and over) pay tourist tax. Under-18s are exempt. For a family, you therefore only count the adults.

The law sets out other exemptions: seasonal workers employed in the town, and people in emergency accommodation or temporary rehousing. These situations don’t apply to park visitors.

How much is the tourist tax at each Disney hotel?

Here is the tax per adult per night for each Disney hotel. Children under 18 are not counted. The amounts are up to date for 2026 and can be reviewed each year by Val d’Europe Agglomération.

Is the tax included in a Disney holiday?

Yes, in most cases. If you book a package holiday at a Disney hotel, directly through Disneyland Paris or an official reseller, the tax is already included in the price shown. You have nothing extra to pay at check-in.

For a room-only booking (no tickets), paid directly to the hotel, the tax may be charged separately, usually at check-out. Check the details on your booking confirmation.

A worked example

Take a family of 2 adults and 2 children spending 3 nights at the Newport Bay Club (4 stars).

The two children under 18 are exempt. So you only count the two adults:

2 adults x 3 nights x €8.45 = €50.70 for the stay.

If the stay is booked as a Disney package, this amount is already included in the price: nothing extra to pay when you get there.

What about partner hotels?

Tourist tax also applies to partner hotels and accommodation near the park. The amount depends on their rating and their town. Here too, only adults pay, and under-18s are exempt.

Unlike Disney hotel packages, it’s usually paid separately on arrival. Remember to allow for it in your budget if you choose a partner hotel: I break down all the costs of a trip in my guide to budgeting for a trip.
