Magic Shot with Pluto

Mickey’s dog Pluto pops up in your picture. At the marked spot, a Disney photographer snaps a shot of you, and the PhotoPass service then adds Pluto digitally.

At a glance

Don’t expect a real meet and greet with a Magic Shot. It’s a Disney PhotoPass photo trick: at the marked spot, a Disney photographer snaps you, and Pluto gets added to the shot digitally. The picture then shows up in your PhotoPass account. It’s an easy keepsake of Mickey’s faithful sidekick to take home.

Your questions about this meet and greet

01 How do you meet Disney characters at Disneyland Paris?

There are four main ways to meet a character: in the park by waiting in a regular standby line, at dedicated spots with a virtual queue in the Disneyland Paris app, at a character meal (character dining), or at some official Disney hotels. If you can’t get a meet and greet, you’ll still see the characters in the parades and shows.

02 How does a meet and greet with a regular standby line work in the park?

Find where the meet and greet takes place (shown in the Disneyland Paris app and in the daily Program), then get in line on the spot. The wait time depends on the character and the time of day. Once it’s your turn, you get a few moments for a photo and an autograph.

03 How can I tell which characters will be around on the day I go?

In the Disneyland Paris app (in the "Today in the park" or "Characters" section) and on my blog. The schedule changes every day, and some meet and greets are only announced that same morning.

04 Do meet and greets come with PhotoPass photos?

Yes. Most standby and virtual queue meet and greets have an official PhotoPass photographer on hand. If your PhotoPass bundle is active, the photos are included. Otherwise, you can buy them individually afterward. For character meals, you’ll generally snap the photos with your own cameras.

05 How does a character meal (character dining) work?

You book a restaurant where characters stop by your table during the meal. Each visit comes with a photo and an autograph. Booking is highly recommended, sometimes several weeks ahead. You’ll find prices and the full list in my Restaurants FAQ and in my dedicated article.
