At a glance
Disney Hotel Cheyenne is a 3-star Disney hotel that opened in April 1992 with the launch of Disneyland Paris. It has 1000 rooms spread across several wooden buildings named after famous Wild West figures such as Calamity Jane, Wyatt Earp, Butch Cassidy, Jesse James and Billy the Kid.
The hotel immerses visitors in the atmosphere of a small cowboy town recreated in the days of the Gold Rush. Weathered wooden facades, old-fashioned signs, the saloon, the well, the tipis and Fort Apache create an immersive setting unlike any other Disney hotel.
Since the 2017 refurbishment, the rooms have Woody’s Roundup decor featuring Woody, Jessie and Bullseye from Toy Story 2: cowhide-print bedspreads, cowboy boot lamps, horseshoe mirrors and wall friezes in the colours of the Pixar heroes.
The hotel has no swimming pool but offers several free activities, such as pony rides and the Fort Apache outdoor play area beside the Rio Grande river. For dining, there is just one family restaurant: Chuck Wagon Café serves breakfast and dinner as an all-you-can-eat Tex-Mex and American buffet, complemented by the Red Garter Saloon for drinks or cocktails and a Starbucks Coffee near reception.
With its particularly well-crafted Western theme, prices among the most affordable of the Disney hotels, rooms sleeping up to 4 people and its daily meet and greet with Woody or Jessie, the Cheyenne remains one of the most popular Disney hotels with families. Guests also get Extra Magic Time to enter both parks before official opening.
A Western town to step into. The pedestrian streets lined with wooden facades faithfully recreate a town of the American West, complete with its saloon and sheriff’s office. Kids love the pony rides (extra charge) on offer in fine weather. The themed rooms are inspired directly by Sheriff Woody from Toy Story.
History
Opened on 12 April 1992, Disney Hotel Cheyenne recreates a town in the American West as seen in Hollywood films, designed by architect Robert A.M. Stern, with streets lined with wooden buildings.
During its 2016-2017 refurbishment, which earned it a third star, the rooms were redecorated around Woody and Jessie, characters from the film Toy Story.

Who it’s for
Pros and cons
Strong points
- Immersive Wild West atmosphere and a one-of-a-kind Western town setting
- Rooms themed on Toy Story (Woody and Jessie)
- Among the most affordable prices of the Disney hotels
- Original free activities (pony rides, Fort Apache playground)
Weak points
- A long walk to the park (about 20 minutes)
- No pool on site
- Only one on-site restaurant (a buffet)
- No lift in most of the buildings
My verdict
In my view, the Hotel Cheyenne offers the best value for money in the resort, thanks to its total immersion in a small Wild West town. The level of detail in the wooden pedestrian streets makes you forget it’s a budget-category hotel.
It’s my favourite hotel at Disneyland Paris, where I’ve stayed 3 times, most recently in 2026. The rooms themed on Toy Story are very well designed for families and really practical. The only real downside is the lack of a lift in most buildings and the 20-minute walk to the parks, luckily made up for by the free shuttle buses. The Chuck Wagon Café buffet is simple but generous, and I always love its very friendly atmosphere.
I recommend it without hesitation for families with young children who love cowboys, and for moderate budgets. Avoid it if a pool is a must for your holiday, as there’s no pool at this hotel.

Map & getting there
The Disney Hotel Cheyenne sits north of the man-made Rio Grande river, which links it to Lake Disney, just past Disney Village and opposite the Hotel Santa Fe.
Allow about 20 minutes on foot to the Disneyland Paris park entrances along the lake, or 8 minutes on the free shuttle bus from the stop in front of Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy station. A little further away than the three hotels right on Lake Disney, it offers a calmer setting, with a peaceful walk along the Rio Grande river.

Your questions about this hotel
01 Which Disney hotel offers the best value for money?
For me, the Hotel Cheyenne offers the best value for money: an immersive Wild West atmosphere at an affordable price, ideal for families. The Newport Bay Club comes a close second, with its large pool and comfortable rooms at a reasonable price for what you get. It all depends on your priorities (theme, pool, distance), but the Cheyenne is still my favourite when you’re watching your budget.
02 Which Disney hotel should you choose with kids?
For a stay with kids, I recommend the Hotel Cheyenne: a very immersive Wild West atmosphere (saloon, Western streets, ponies) at an affordable price, and little ones love it. The Newport Bay Club is also an excellent choice thanks to its large pool with children’s areas. The Sequoia Lodge appeals to families who like a Disney-style forest atmosphere. Avoid the Davy Crockett Ranch if you don’t have a car, as getting to the parks from there is more of a hassle.
03 Can you meet Disney characters at the hotel?
Yes, several Disney hotels offer character meet and greets, usually in dedicated areas of the lobby. At the Disneyland Hotel, Castle Club rooms include a royal breakfast with Disney princesses in the private lounge. Other hotels hold occasional character appearances, and the programme varies with the season. I check the programme with the concierge as soon as I arrive.
04 What is the cheapest Disney hotel?
The cheapest official Disney hotel is Hotel Santa Fe, themed on Cars and Route 66. It’s the resort’s entry-level hotel, about 20 minutes’ walk from the parks. If you’re on an even tighter budget, Davy Crockett Ranch (bungalows in the forest, reachable by car only) can work out cheaper for families, but you’ll need a vehicle. For exact prices, which vary by date, I check the official Disneyland Paris website directly.
05 What are the themes of the Disney hotels?
Each Disney hotel has its own world: the Disneyland Hotel has a princess and royal theme, Disney Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel celebrates the Marvel superheroes through works of art, the Newport Bay Club recalls nautical New England, the Sequoia Lodge takes you into the forest in the style of Bambi, Disney Hotel Cheyenne recreates a Wild West town with its saloon, Disney Hotel Santa Fe draws on Cars and Route 66, and the Davy Crockett Ranch offers mobile homes deep in the woods.
