At a glance

Villages Nature Paris is a holiday resort co-created by Center Parcs and Disneyland Paris, opened in September 2017. It covers 259 hectares in Bailly-Romainvilliers and has over 1158 units split between cottages and apartments, following an extension phase led by Center Parcs (the site originally had 868 units).

The resort’s identity rests on an ecotourism approach backed by big names: Joe Rohde, the former Disney Imagineer known for designing Pandora at Animal Kingdom, worked on the concept, while architect Jean de Gastines designed the wooden cottages to blend into the surrounding forest. The Aqua Mundo water park (formerly Aqualagon), designed by Jacques Ferrier, covers 9,000 m² indoors and 2,500 m² outdoors, heated to 30°C all year round thanks to geothermal energy.

What sets Villages Nature Paris apart from the other Disneyland Paris partner hotels is its holiday-village format: a stay of at least 3 nights in a cottage or apartment with a fitted kitchen, rather than a standard hotel night. The cottages, grouped into small hamlets, sleep up to 12 people in the VIP versions. The resort is organised into 5 themed areas (Aqua Mundo, Bellevie Farm, Extraordinary Gardens, Forest of Legends, Lakeside Promenade).

For dining, the resort has 7 restaurants in a range of styles: the Suzette crepe restaurant, Italian restaurant Vapiano, the Cépages wine bar, the farm restaurant Les Délices de la Ferme, Miam Miam Burger, Lagon Café and Bar Bowling. A Chez Meunier bakery and a Franprix supermarket also make it easy to cook in your fitted family unit. The Deli’very service delivers a breakfast basket straight to your cottage between 8:30 and 10:00.

What makes it stand out

A giant water park lagoon. This eco-village gives you full access to Aqua Mundo, a water park heated all year round with slides and outdoor pools. You stay in spacious cottages surrounded by nature, just six kilometres (4 miles) from Disneyland Paris. The site is packed with activities, such as an educational farm and treetop adventure courses.

History

Opened to the public on 1 September 2017, Villages Nature Paris came out of a joint venture between Euro Disney and the Pierre & Vacances-Center Parcs group, built around an ecotourism concept based on harmony between people and nature, a few kilometres from the parks.

Art direction was entrusted to Imagineer Joe Rohde. In December 2022, Euro Disney sold its shares to Pierre & Vacances-Center Parcs, which now runs the resort and its water park, Aqua Mundo, on its own.

My verdict

Julie
Julie ★★★★½ 200+ visits since 2023

This eco-tourism resort offers a complete green escape that breaks with the traditional Disney stay, with a minimum stay of three nights. The main draw, which alone justifies booking, is full access to the Aqua Mundo water park.

I’ve stayed here 3 times, most recently in 2023. The wooden cottages are spacious and perfect for self-catering, but the site is huge and involves a lot of walking to reach the Lakeside Promenade and all the activities and entertainment. My honest verdict is about the extra services: lots of on-site activities cost extra and the restaurants close fairly early in the evening. Bear in mind that there’s no free shuttle bus to the parks, so you’ll need the public bus or a car for the fifteen-minute journey.

I recommend it without hesitation for multi-generational families who want to alternate a park day with two days relaxing around the giant slides. Avoid it if your only goal is to make the most of the parks from morning to night.

Extra services

Villages Nature Paris also offers several extra services to make your stay even more enjoyable.

Paid options on site include: a spa with a wide range of treatments, hire of pedalos, electric boats and Rosalies (pedal cars) on or around the lake, a themed escape room, bowling, laser tag, a treetop adventure course, archery, aqua aerobics, discovery workshops, bike and Segway hire, plus a childcare service.

These services must be booked in advance, either via the mobile app, at the Welcome House in the centre of the resort or online when you book your stay.

Map & getting there

The resort is in Bailly-Romainvilliers, around 6 km (4 miles) from Disneyland Paris, or 15 minutes by car from the parks. The hotel doesn’t offer a free Disney shuttle bus: you’ll need to rely on the paid public bus (route 47, €2) from Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy station, or bring your own car.

Your questions about this hotel

01 Which hotel should I choose if I love nature and peace and quiet?

Davy Crockett Ranch is the nature and peace-and-quiet option: bungalows tucked away in a forest, away from the parks (only reachable by car). It has the biggest pool in the resort, with a slide and waterfalls, in a rustic setting. The Sequoia Lodge is a good compromise if you want the forest atmosphere without a car, 15 minutes on foot from the parks.

02 What’s the difference between an official Disney hotel and a partner hotel?

An official Disney hotel is run by Disneyland Paris and gives you exclusive perks: Extra Magic Time in the morning before the parks officially open, free delivery of your shop purchases to the hotel and a fully themed setting. A partner hotel (such as Explorers, Adagio or B&B) is a privately run hotel near the resort, usually cheaper, but without Extra Magic Time or Disney theming. For me, staying in a Disney hotel really makes a difference to the immersion, but if your budget is tight, the partner hotels are a decent option.

03 Is it better to stay in a Disney hotel or a partner hotel?

It all depends on your budget and your strategy. Disney hotel: you get Extra Magic Time (access to the parks up to 1 hour before official opening on some headline rides), delivery of your shopping to the hotel, the official shuttle bus and a themed atmosphere. Partner hotel (Explorers, Adagio or B&B, among others): prices are often lower, a free shuttle is usually provided but it isn’t an official Disney one, and breakfast isn’t always included in the price (check when you book). For a first stay, I’d tend to recommend a Disney hotel. To keep the budget down, a partner hotel.

04 Do you need a car to get to Disneyland Paris?

No. The park has excellent transport links: the RER A (Paris suburban train) stops at the entrance, trains run from the airports and the Disney hotels offer free shuttle buses. A car is mainly useful for exploring the region or if you’re staying further away.

05 How much does a trip to Disneyland Paris cost?

The cost of a trip varies a lot depending on the hotel you choose. For a 2-day, 1-night stay for 2 adults and 2 children with park tickets included, expect around €600 at the cheapest official Disney hotel and up to €1,100 at the most upmarket one. On top of that, you need to add meals: the amount depends on the type of restaurant, but I suggest allowing at least €300 for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner over the 2 days. In total, budget between €900 and €1,400 for this kind of trip. For a day visit only, the 1-day 1-park ticket starts at €49 per adult with a Bon Plan ticket: allow a budget of at least around €400 for a one-day visit for 2 adults and 2 children, meals included.
