At a glance
Merlin l’Enchanteur is the crystal and jewelry store on the ground floor of Sleeping Beauty Castle, across from La Boutique du Château, with direct access to La Tanière du Dragon.
The decor recreates Merlin the wizard’s workshop, a nod to the 1963 animated movie based on T.H. White’s novel The Sword in the Stone: stones and beams fitted together in unlikely ways, like at Sir Ector’s castle, and a tree holding up one of the arches, a reminder of Merlin’s cottage in the woods. The room overflows with objects: mounted insects, stacks of spell books, globes, and a flying machine prototype inspired by Leonardo da Vinci hidden in the decor. Several owls (on the sign, as a knickknack, on the mantel) refer to Archimedes, Merlin’s feathered sidekick, and the ceiling painting, a sun with a patched-up eye, quotes Georges Méliès’s A Trip to the Moon (1902).
The store, exclusively Arribas Brothers, specializes in art glass and jewelry: a glass artist gives live glassblowing demonstrations. You’ll find jewelry, glass and gemstone figurines, tiaras, picture frames, crystal sculptures, decorated glasses, Disney magic wands you can personalize, a selection of Christmas ornaments, and the crystal replica of Sleeping Beauty Castle, with a price tag that runs to five figures.
An Arribas Brothers glassblower at work. This Arribas Brothers-only store in the west wing of Sleeping Beauty Castle has a glass artist who shapes blown-glass figurines live in front of guests. Custom crystal engraving and a gallery of gemstones round out the visit, in a wizard’s-study setting that pays tribute to Merlin.

Pros and cons
The highlights
- Located on the ground floor of Sleeping Beauty Castle
- Live glassblowing demonstrations
- Direct access to La Tanière du Dragon
- Disney magic wands you can personalize
The downsides
- Very small sales area
- Big crowds because of its central location
- Fragile items to carry around
My verdict
Of everything in the castle, this wizard’s den is the spot I love most. It’s a wonderful clutter of piled-up books of spells, owls honoring Archimedes, a flying contraption straight out of Leonardo da Vinci’s notebooks, and up on the ceiling, a canvas borrowed from A Trip to the Moon by Méliès.
Every time, I stop for a while to watch the glassblowing demos: seeing a figurine come to life before my eyes is something I could watch forever. The castle replica made of crystal deserves a look too, even if it stays on the shelf.
Julie’s tip
Best time to go
Stop by late in the morning or early in the afternoon, when the glass artist is giving demonstrations.

Your questions about this shop
01 Where can you buy Disney merchandise at Disneyland Paris?
There are four main places to shop: Disneyland Park (Main Street U.S.A. above all, plus every land), Disney Adventure World, Disney Village (open to everyone, no park ticket required), and, if you book an official Disney hotel, the shop inside your hotel. My dedicated article walks you through the main shops.
02 Is there a way to shop without lugging bags around all day?
Yes. The Shopping Service lets you have your purchases sent to a pickup point, so you can collect them later at the same shop, at another shop on your way out of the park, or even at your Disney hotel’s shop. The service is free in most shops (with a minimum purchase). Just ask the cast member at checkout.
03 What are the shop hours?
Shops inside the parks roughly follow park hours, often opening a little earlier on Main Street U.S.A. and closing a little later after the nighttime show. Disney Village shops have their own hours, usually running later into the evening. You’ll find the exact hours in the Disneyland Paris app.
04 Can you buy Disneyland Paris merchandise online?
There’s no official Disneyland Paris online store. To shop from home, you can use the Disney Store website (formerly shopDisney), which sells official Disney merchandise and sometimes a few items specific to Disneyland Paris. At the resort itself, you buy everything directly in the shops.
