At a glance
A Celebration in Arendelle is a daily show performed on the water in the World of Frozen land. Visitors are invited to the Snowflower Festival, the most important tradition in the kingdom of Arendelle, held in memory of Anna’s act of love for her sister Elsa.
The story opens with the arrival of Kristoff’s boat (its prow carved as a tribute to Sven) and Olaf, followed by the villagers’ barge as they rush through the final preparations: they are recreating the snowflower symbol to surprise the royal sisters. Olaf appoints himself director of operations and sings "I’m a very busy snowman", a version of "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" rewritten for him, but nothing goes to plan. Anna and Elsa then arrive aboard their royal longship and officially open the celebration.
The show uses three specially designed boats, an Olaf animatronic operated live by a Cast Member (a fallback version, with Olaf as a puppet handled as in Mickey and the Magician, is ready in case of a breakdown), pyrotechnics, water jets and carefully designed lighting for both day and night.
The show’s original song, "Snowflower", was written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the songwriters behind the Frozen I and II films. The orchestral and choral score, conducted by Tyler Koontz (who had already orchestrated Disney Tales of Magic), was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London by a symphony orchestra of around 90 musicians, with traditional Nordic instruments (Swedish nyckelharpa, dulcimer, Norwegian flutes) recorded at the Disneyland Paris studio with musicians of Nordic origin.
The resort’s first water show on this scale, it relies on boats built by Couach Construction Navale (Arcachon Bay, over 120 years of expertise) and decorated in part by the Prelud workshop near Dijon. The boats are steered by hand, with no track or automation, and the project involved nearly 400 suppliers, 83% of them French companies.
A Viking ship that really sails along the fjord during the show. The ship moves around a life-size animatronic Olaf. Anna, Elsa and Kristoff take their places on the castle balconies.

History
The lake in the World of Frozen area marks the first major expansion of Disney Adventure World. A Celebration in Arendelle is the first large-scale water show designed specifically for this outdoor setting, free from the limits of the usual theatre venues. It officially opened on 29 March 2026, at the same time as the area opened and the second park changed its name.
The Walt Disney Imagineers worked with water choreography experts to build this show, which runs both by day and by night. The lake was designed from the start to hold heavy underwater equipment, including fountains, spotlights and pyrotechnic rigs. The technology is completely hidden in the Scandinavian facades, which allows synchronised visual effects that recreate ice and winter fog.
Theme & story
This show on the water brings the world of Frozen to life, with Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and the villagers of Arendelle. Visitors are invited to the Snowflower Festival, the kingdom’s most important tradition, and the characters sing the film’s best-loved songs around a Viking boat sailing along the quayside. The show is interactive: if you like, you can sing along to the Frozen songs with the characters, but you don’t have to.
Who it’s for
Pros and cons
Strong points
- Very expressive Olaf animatronic
- Original song by Lopez/Anderson-Lopez
- 360° staging on the fjord
- Pyrotechnics and fountains
- Suitable for toddlers and families
Weak points
- Big crowds around the bay
- Limited show times during the day
- Partial view depending on where you stand
- Scaled-back version if the animatronic breaks down
My verdict
A major addition that brings the world of the animated film to life spectacularly, right on the water of the lake. I like the festive mood of this celebration and its fully immersive visuals, which make it worth setting time aside for while you explore this new themed area. It’s a really striking show for families.
Since everything happens outdoors, the experience is entirely at the mercy of the weather. On top of that, the novelty draws huge numbers of visitors along the shore, so you need to plan ahead.

Map & getting there
The show takes place in Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios), in the World of Frozen land. It plays out on the Arendelle fjord (Adventure Bay lake), below the castle. The audience stands on the pontoon and around the bay, which give a 360° view of the boats moving in the middle.
Your questions about this show
01 How early should you find a spot for a parade or show?
Allow 30 to 45 minutes at quiet times, and up to 1 hour to 1 hour 30 at busy times for the best spots. The details for each spot are in my dedicated articles. If you buy paid access, just turn up 10 to 30 minutes before.
02 Where can you find today’s show and parade times?
In the Disneyland Paris app (the Today in the park section) or on my blog. The times change every day depending on the season and the crowds, so I recommend checking that same morning.
03 Can shows and parades be cancelled?
Yes. In severe weather (high winds, storms, heavy rain), night-time shows can be cancelled without notice or replacement. Parades sometimes are too. Check the status on the day in the Disneyland Paris app.
04 Are shows and parades included in the ticket?
Yes, all daytime shows, parades and night-time shows (Disney Tales of Magic and Disney Cascade of Lights) are included in the ticket price, in the free viewing areas. Only the paid premium viewing area (a reserved spot closer to the stage) and Guaranteed Access to a stage show are optional extras, which you buy in the Disneyland Paris app.
