At a glance
Les Trésors de Schéhérazade is a shop at the entrance to Adventureland, inside the Adventureland Bazaar. It is currently closed: a sign on its front says it has "gone in search of 1001 new stories".
Its name refers to Scheherazade, the Persian queen and storyteller of the Thousand and One Nights. The interior draws on the tale of Sinbad the Sailor, taken from volume 6 of Richard Burton’s translation published in 1885: a life-size wooden camel stands in the middle of the shop, beneath a ceiling studded with swords, meant to be those Sinbad won on his seven voyages.
The architecture combines pointed arches, domes, mosaics and geometric patterns typical of the nineteenth-century oriental style. Before it closed, the range had narrowed to the Disney Princesses line: dolls, dressing-up outfits, tiaras, jewellery, figurines, soft toys and costumes.
What you’ll find
History
The shop opened in 1992 in the Adventureland Bazaar, a covered complex that originally housed five shops: L’Échoppe d’Aladin, La Reine des Serpents, Le Chant des Tam-Tams, La Girafe Curieuse and Les Trésors de Schéhérazade. In 1999, most of the Bazaar’s shops were turned into the Agrabah Café restaurant, and Les Trésors de Schéhérazade survived alongside La Girafe Curieuse. When it opened, the shop sold oriental rugs, shawls, Egyptian cotton dresses, Moroccan leather bags and jewellery from the Orient, with a corner for mint tea and pastries. Its range later switched to the Disney Princesses. The original oriental soundtrack, replaced by the film’s music when Aladdin came out, was restored shortly after the park’s 15th anniversary. The shop has been closed for several years, with no reopening announced.

Your questions about this shop
01 Where can you shop for Disney merchandise at Disneyland Paris?
You have four main options: the shops in Disneyland Park (mainly on Main Street U.S.A. and in each land), the shops in Disney Adventure World, the shops in Disney Village (no park ticket needed) and your hotel shop if you’re staying at an official Disney Hotel. I go through the main shops in my dedicated article.
02 Can you shop without carrying your bags all day?
Yes. The Shopping Service lets you have your purchases sent to a collection point, to pick up later in the shop, or as you leave the park in another shop, or even in the shop at your Disney Hotel. The service is free in most shops (above a minimum spend). Just ask the sales assistant when you pay.
03 What are the shops’ opening hours?
The shops in the parks roughly follow the parks’ opening hours, often opening a little earlier on Main Street U.S.A. and closing a little later after the night-time show. The Disney Village shops have their own opening hours, usually later into the evening. The exact times are in the Disneyland Paris app.
04 Can you order Disneyland Paris merchandise online?
There’s no official Disneyland Paris online shop. To buy from home, you can go to the Disney Store website (formerly shopDisney), which sells official Disney merchandise and sometimes a few Disneyland Paris-specific products. At the resort, you buy directly in the shops.
