What is the Christmas parade at Disneyland Paris?
The Disneyland Paris Christmas parade has been called "Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade!" since 2021. It’s a procession of LED-lit floats, with Disney characters in festive outfits (Mickey, Minnie, the Princesses) and Santa Claus bringing up the rear. It runs twice a day during the Christmas season: a daytime version and a brighter evening version.
What makes it special are the "showstops" on Central Plaza and Town Square. A showstop is a planned stop: the floats come to a halt and the dancers and characters perform a routine right in front of you for a few minutes. That’s when the parade is at its most impressive.
The two daily parades follow the same route, but in opposite directions, with a slightly different number of loops around the squares. So the procession arrives from a different side depending on the version, which changes the best spots (I go through everything below).
The Christmas parade is part of the park’s festive season, which I cover in my complete guide to Christmas at Disneyland Paris. For the rest of the decorations (the tree, the Main Street lights, the decorated shops), have a look at my Christmas decorations guide.
Don’t confuse it with the park’s regular parade
Christmas parade times (what time does it start?)
The Christmas parade runs twice a day: at around 15:55 for the daytime version and at around 17:45 for the brighter evening version. They’re two separate performances, but they use the same route, one in each direction.
- First performance, at around 15:55
- the daytime version. The floats parade in full daylight, with the castle and the Main Street facades in the background. The procession comes down from Fantasyland towards the park entrance.
- Second performance, at around 17:45
- the evening version. It’s brighter, because the LED floats stand out in the dusk. This time the procession sets off from the entrance towards Fantasyland, the same route in the opposite direction.
As the direction changes, the parade arrives from a different side depending on the version, so the best spots aren’t the same (I go through everything below). The 2026 Christmas parade times are a guide only and can vary from day to day: always check them in the Disneyland Paris app on the day of your visit. The exact season dates are in my seasons calendar.
The parade lasts about 20 minutes. All the details are on the Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade! page.

The best spots to see the Christmas parade: where to stand
There isn’t one single best spot: it all depends on which version you’re watching. As the two parades follow the same route in opposite directions, the procession arrives from a different side during the day and in the evening, so the best spots aren’t the same.
The table below sums up the six spots I recommend at a glance. I then go through them version by version, with their pros and cons.
The spots at a glance
| Spot | What you see | 1st, day (~15:55) | 2nd, evening (~17:45) | Good to know | How early to arrive |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| #1 Left of the hub, on Central Plaza | The castle and the floats arriving from Fantasyland, plus the showstop on the hub stages | Yes | No | Very busy, no view of the Main Street tree, ~1 hour for the front row | 30 to 45 min |
| #2 Top right of the hub, on Central Plaza | The floats arriving from Fantasyland, head-on, before they go round the hub | Yes | No | Very popular, with lots of people walking past | 30 to 45 min |
| #3 On Town Square, facing the castle | Main Street lit up, the foot of the tree and a completely clear view | Yes | No | Very popular, sometimes reserved for VIPs or the media | 30 to 45 min |
| #4 On the pavement in front of New Century Notions / Flora’s Unique Boutique | The floats leaving, the tree and a showstop right in front of you | No | Yes | Limited space | 30 to 45 min |
| #5 In front of City Hall | The lit-up tree, plus the floats turning and staying in front of you for longer | No | Yes | Limited space, shelter nearby if it rains | 30 to 45 min |
| #6 On the hub, facing Main Street U.S.A. | The floats arriving from Main Street, the lights along the avenue and the dancers in front of you | No | Yes | No shelter if it rains, often very busy, ~1 hour for the front row | 30 to 45 min |

The spots in detail: daytime version
For the daytime version, at around 15:55, the procession comes down from Fantasyland towards the entrance. Here are the three spots I recommend.
#1 Left of the hub on Central Plaza
I often stand to the left of the hub, on Central Plaza, for the daytime version. You get a clear view of the castle and of the floats as they arrive from Fantasyland.
Pros: a good view of the showstop thanks to the stands set up on the hub, and a view of the floats with the castle in the background.
Cons: it’s a very busy spot, so you need to arrive early. And you can’t see the tree at the start of Main Street.
#2 Top right of the hub, on Central Plaza
Another option I like during the day: top right of the hub, on the side where the floats come out of Fantasyland. You see them coming head-on, before they start their loop of Central Plaza.
Pros: each float comes straight towards you, and you then get to watch the whole showstop on the hub.
Cons: a very popular spot, with lots of people walking past who aren’t watching the parade and block your view.
#3 On Town Square, facing the castle
This is one of my favourite spots: on Town Square, at the park entrance, facing the castle.
Pros: a great view of Main Street lit up, a position at the foot of the Christmas tree and a completely clear view of the parade.
Cons: it’s a very popular spot, which often means a long wait. On some days it can also be reserved for VIPs or for Disneyland Paris press and marketing.
The spots in detail: evening version
For the evening version, at around 17:45, the parade sets off from the entrance towards Fantasyland: the same route as in the daytime, but the other way round. Here are the three spots I recommend. In the evening, I find the atmosphere different: Main Street, Town Square and the castle are already lit up, which gives this version a brighter backdrop than during the day.
It isn’t a show synchronised with the parade, but this illuminated setting shows off the LED floats even more.
#4 On the pavement in front of New Century Notions / Flora’s Unique Boutique
For the evening version, I’m happy to stand on the pavement in front of New Century Notions and Flora’s Unique Boutique.
Pros: a good view of the floats leaving, of the tree and of a showstop that takes place right in front of you.
Cons: space is limited here.
#5 In front of City Hall
Another good spot in the evening: in front of City Hall.
Pros: a view of the lit-up tree, good visibility of the floats (they turn in front of you and stay a little longer) and shelter close by if it rains.
Cons: space is limited here.
#6 On the hub, facing Main Street U.S.A.
The last spot I recommend for the evening: on the hub, facing Main Street U.S.A.
Pros: you see the floats arriving from the park entrance, you get the Main Street lights and the dancers perform in front of you.
Cons: no shelter if it rains and the spot is often very busy.
The Christmas parade route
The two performances follow the same route, but in opposite directions, with a slightly different number of loops around the squares. Here are the details, direction by direction.
Daytime version (from Fantasyland towards the entrance): the parade sets off from Fantasyland and moves up to the Central Plaza hub, where it does two loops (showstop, with dancers and characters stepping up onto the hub). It then goes down the full length of Main Street U.S.A. to Town Square and ends just past the Ribbons and Bows Hat Shop.
Evening version (from the entrance towards Fantasyland): it’s the same route in reverse. The parade starts from the park entrance and does two laps of the tree in front of the station (with showstops). It then goes up Main Street U.S.A. to the hub, where it does two laps (showstops), before finishing towards Fantasyland, in front of the it’s a small world ride.
In both cases, the parade passes at the foot of the castle and around the big Christmas tree.

Frequently asked questions
01 What time is the Christmas parade?
Expect it at around 15:55 for the daytime version and around 17:45 for the evening version. These times are a guide only and vary from day to day, so check them in the Disneyland Paris app.
02 What’s the difference between the daytime and the evening version?
Both versions follow the same route, but in opposite directions: the parade arrives from a different side, so the good spots aren’t the same. The evening version is also brighter, as the LED floats stand out in the dark, with Main Street, Town Square and the castle all lit up.
03 Is there a paid reserved viewing area for the parade?
Yes. The premium viewing area is on the outer edge of Central Plaza, next to Plaza Gardens, priced from €21 to €24 per person. You can only book it through the Disneyland Paris app. I cover everything in my dedicated guide: the premium viewing area.
04 Do you need a special ticket or pay extra to enjoy a season (Halloween, Christmas)?
No. The seasons and their entertainment (decorations, parades, shows, meet and greets) are included in the standard admission ticket, with no extra paid evening event. Two dates are the exception: 31 October and 31 December. On those days, you need a dated ticket for that day, among the most expensive of the year. Only the usual services remain optional, like Premier Access (a paid fast track) or the premium viewing area for the parade. That said, tickets are often more expensive during high-demand periods like Halloween, Christmas and the French school holidays.
05 Where is the best place to watch the parade and how early should you arrive?
The safe bets are the Central Plaza hub and Town Square, facing the castle. Allow 30 to 45 minutes for a good spot, and around 1 hour for the front row. As the parade is performed two times, in opposite directions, the best spot depends on the performance.
06 Is there a viewing area for wheelchair users?
Yes, a free viewing area is set aside for visitors in wheelchairs. Its location can vary depending on the day and any construction work. It can’t be booked: on the day, ask the Cast Members along the route to point you in the right direction.
