At a glance

Hunter’s Grill is one of the two restaurants at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge, a hotel inspired by the mountain forests of the American Northwest and its great wooden lodges. It follows a hunters’ and fishermen’s cabin theme.

The decor combines wooden beams, panelling, stone walls, burgundy banquettes and shelves lined with rustic objects: trophies, fishing nets, woven baskets, model canoes, wooden carvings of bears and marmots, oil lamps and old books. The atmosphere is warm and woody.

It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet of international food with a mainly American slant. The restaurant welcomes hotel guests and outside visitors with a booking. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are available.

This is also the restaurant that serves all-you-can-eat raclette in winter.

What makes it stand out

A meat and cheese buffet. Inside the Sequoia Lodge hotel, this all-you-can-eat restaurant lays out rustic wooden counters full of comforting dishes. The menu stands out for its roast meats, winter stews and a station of melting raclette cheese. A great choice for big family appetites after a day in the parks.

The most popular tables go fast, often several weeks ahead: I recommend booking as soon as your dates are set. Have a look at the menu before you go too, you’ll know straight away whether this restaurant suits you and you won’t waste time on the spot.

History

Opened on 27 May 1992, Hunter’s Grill is the second restaurant at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge.

Facing Beaver Creek Tavern in the main building, it was designed to recreate a forest hunters’ refuge. The stone facings, solid logs and rustic American furniture date back to when the hotel first opened.

My verdict

Julie ★★★★☆ 200+ visits since 2023

Hunter’s Grill is the all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge, with a mountain lodge theme. Its strong point is the hearty, varied buffet in a cosy setting, also open to visitors who aren’t staying at the hotel.

I’ve eaten here and the all-you-can-eat raclette served in winter is a really good idea at Disneyland Paris. Allow around €45 per adult and €25 per child in this restaurant open since 1992, with a well-done hunters’ cabin decor. Watch out though: the smell of raclette is very strong in winter, right into the hotel lobby, and crowds build up at peak times. The rest of the year, the buffet stays hearty and varied.

I’d recommend it for a generous buffet dinner, especially for the winter raclette. Less suited if you’re sensitive to strong smells or want somewhere quiet.

Your questions about this restaurant

01 How do you book a table at a Disneyland Paris restaurant?

You have four ways to book. The easiest is the official Disneyland Paris app ("Dining" section), from your Disney account. You can also call the booking line on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50, use the official website via the Dining menu or book on site at City Hall, Studio Services or your Disney hotel’s concierge desk. Before you choose, I suggest downloading my free file by email, which brings together all the menus of the Disneyland Paris restaurants. It really helps you make up your mind.

02 How far in advance can you book a restaurant at Disneyland Paris?

It depends on how you’re visiting. If you’re staying in a Disney hotel, you can book up to 1 year ahead, as soon as your stay is confirmed: a real advantage for the most popular restaurants like the Auberge de Cendrillon or the character buffets. If you’re coming for the day, without a Disney hotel, you can book up to 2 months (60 days) ahead. You can book in the Disneyland Paris app, on the official website or by phone on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50. My advice: book as soon as the window opens for character restaurants and for evenings at weekends or during French school holidays, otherwise the slots disappear fast.

03 Can you still get a table on the day without booking?

Yes, it’s possible but not guaranteed. Some restaurants run a "walk-in queue" depending on the tables freed up during the day. Go to the restaurant’s reception desk and ask if there’s any room left. The mobile app also shows slots that open up in real time (last-minute cancellations), and I check it regularly when I’m after a last-minute table. Otherwise, fall back on the quick-service counters and snack stands, which never need a booking. Tip: eating lunch at an off-peak time (before 12:00 or after 14:00) greatly improves your chances of finding a table without booking.

04 How do I cancel a Disneyland Paris restaurant booking?

You can cancel easily in the official Disneyland Paris mobile app. Go to "Account > My table reservations", select the booking and confirm the cancellation. You can also cancel by phone on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50. Remember to cancel as soon as you know you won’t make it: it frees up a table for other visitors and is a nice thing to do. Important: you can’t change the time or the number of diners directly in the app. If you need to change it, you have two options: cancel and make a new booking (if slots are still available), or call the reservations centre on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50.

05 Can you ask for a high chair or a birthday cake, or mention a meal plan, when booking?

Yes, when you book (app, phone or website), there’s a "Special request" field where you can make several requests. You can mention a high chair for a baby, a birthday cake (at an extra cost) or a food intolerance or allergy. You can also say that you want to use your half-board plan. For the birthday cake, I’d advise mentioning it as soon as you book to be sure one is available. If you didn’t, you can also ask directly when you arrive at the restaurant, and they’ll try to sort something out depending on what they have in stock that day.
