At a glance
Downtown Restaurant is the main buffet restaurant at Disney’s Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel, at Disneyland Paris. Its concept recalls the cosmopolitan spirit of New York City and the variety of food across its neighbourhoods.
The decor is modern and clean: light wood tones, black and white, wooden furniture, round chandeliers and black-and-white Marvel comic artwork boards on the walls. The spacious room mixes round and square tables and has high chairs for young kids.
It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet of cosmopolitan food organised around several cuisines: American, Italian and Asian. Some dishes are made at the counter in front of you. The restaurant also serves a continental breakfast in the morning. A birthday dessert to share can be ordered at the start of the meal.
A Marvel art gallery with an open kitchen. This all-you-can-eat buffet at the Art of Marvel hotel displays over 90 original superhero sketches signed by comic book artists. The counters serve New York-style specialities, from homemade pizzas to Asian dishes and mini burgers made fresh in front of you.

The most popular tables go fast, often several weeks ahead: I recommend booking as soon as your dates are set. Have a look at the menu before you go too, you’ll know straight away whether this restaurant suits you and you won’t waste time on the spot.

History
Opened on 21 June 2021 with the launch of Disney’s Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel, Downtown Restaurant stands where the former Parkside Diner was from 1992 to 2019.
The place was completely transformed. The original theme of a retro 1930s diner gave way to a very modern decor celebrating New York street art and housing the hotel’s largest collection of Marvel sketches.

My verdict
Downtown Restaurant is the cosmopolitan all-you-can-eat buffet at Disney’s Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel, mixing American, Italian and Asian food. Its strong point is this very varied buffet with dishes made in front of you, in a smart modern setting.
I’ve eaten here and it’s very good, with a nice range of Italian, American and Asian dishes. Allow around €55 per adult and €30 per child in this restaurant that opened in 2021, with a stylish urban setting. My reservations: I find the room a bit noisy and warm, as the kitchens are close to the tables. The Marvel theming is also fairly low-key.
I’d recommend it for families looking for a varied, international buffet. Less suited if you want somewhere quiet or a strong Marvel feel.

Your questions about this restaurant
01 How do you book a table at a Disneyland Paris restaurant?
You have four ways to book. The easiest is the official Disneyland Paris app ("Dining" section), from your Disney account. You can also call the booking line on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50, use the official website via the Dining menu or book on site at City Hall, Studio Services or your Disney hotel’s concierge desk. Before you choose, I suggest downloading my free file by email, which brings together all the menus of the Disneyland Paris restaurants. It really helps you make up your mind.
02 How far in advance can you book a restaurant at Disneyland Paris?
It depends on how you’re visiting. If you’re staying in a Disney hotel, you can book up to 1 year ahead, as soon as your stay is confirmed: a real advantage for the most popular restaurants like the Auberge de Cendrillon or the character buffets. If you’re coming for the day, without a Disney hotel, you can book up to 2 months (60 days) ahead. You can book in the Disneyland Paris app, on the official website or by phone on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50. My advice: book as soon as the window opens for character restaurants and for evenings at weekends or during French school holidays, otherwise the slots disappear fast.
03 Can you still get a table on the day without booking?
Yes, it’s possible but not guaranteed. Some restaurants run a "walk-in queue" depending on the tables freed up during the day. Go to the restaurant’s reception desk and ask if there’s any room left. The mobile app also shows slots that open up in real time (last-minute cancellations), and I check it regularly when I’m after a last-minute table. Otherwise, fall back on the quick-service counters and snack stands, which never need a booking. Tip: eating lunch at an off-peak time (before 12:00 or after 14:00) greatly improves your chances of finding a table without booking.
04 How do I cancel a Disneyland Paris restaurant booking?
You can cancel easily in the official Disneyland Paris mobile app. Go to "Account > My table reservations", select the booking and confirm the cancellation. You can also cancel by phone on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50. Remember to cancel as soon as you know you won’t make it: it frees up a table for other visitors and is a nice thing to do. Important: you can’t change the time or the number of diners directly in the app. If you need to change it, you have two options: cancel and make a new booking (if slots are still available), or call the reservations centre on +33 (0)1 60 30 40 50.
05 Can you ask for a high chair or a birthday cake, or mention a meal plan, when booking?
Yes, when you book (app, phone or website), there’s a "Special request" field where you can make several requests. You can mention a high chair for a baby, a birthday cake (at an extra cost) or a food intolerance or allergy. You can also say that you want to use your half-board plan. For the birthday cake, I’d advise mentioning it as soon as you book to be sure one is available. If you didn’t, you can also ask directly when you arrive at the restaurant, and they’ll try to sort something out depending on what they have in stock that day.
