Smoking at Disneyland Paris: where the smoking areas are

Smoking has been banned in both parks since 2008, vaping included. Here are the Disneyland Paris smoking areas you can use and what the 2025 law says.

No, you can’t smoke wherever you like at Disneyland Paris. Since 2008, smoking has been banned in both parks, e-cigarettes included. You can only smoke in dedicated smoking areas, inside the parks, in quieter corners.

In the rest of the resort (Disney Village, around the station, outside the hotels), there’s no specific ban. A French law of 1 July 2025 has also tightened the rules in some outdoor public places.

Can you smoke in the parks?

No. Disneyland Paris has banned smoking across both of its parks since 2008. This rule comes from Disney’s own park rules, not from French law.

It covers ordinary cigarettes and e-cigarettes. The stated aim is to keep the parks clean and limit second-hand smoke, especially around children.

Where are the smoking areas?

Disneyland Paris has set up smoking areas inside the parks. They’re usually tucked away in quieter corners, away from the crowds, and generally have benches, shelters and ashtrays. So you don’t need to leave the park to take a break.

To find them on the day, the easiest way is to check the map in the Disneyland Paris app or ask a Cast Member.

In Disneyland Park

At the time of writing, Disneyland Park has fourteen smoking areas (including one at the Disneyland Hotel), spread across the different lands. You won’t find any on Main Street or in Central Plaza, the busiest areas. Here’s a rough breakdown, which you should check against the official map on the day of your visit.

In Disney Adventure World

The second park, formerly Walt Disney Studios Park and now Disney Adventure World, also has several smoking areas spread around the park. As this park is changing a lot (redevelopments and new areas), I’d rather not pin down a number or an exact layout. Check the official map on site or in the app on the day of your visit.

What about the rest of the resort?

Outside the two parks, the rules are more relaxed. At Disney Village, around the station (RER and car parks) and in the outdoor areas of the Disney hotels, there’s no specific ban on smoking or vaping, at the time of writing.

Inside the hotels and in their covered or enclosed areas, it’s non-smoking, vaping included. Out of respect for others, keep away from the crowds when you smoke.

What changed with the law of 1 July 2025

A French law came into force on 1 July 2025 (decree of June 2025). It bans smoking tobacco in several outdoor public places used by children.

  • Public parks and gardens
  • Beaches while people are swimming
  • Bus shelters
  • The areas around schools and libraries
  • The areas around swimming pools and sports facilities

In these places, smoking can get you a €135 fine.

E-cigarettes and vaping

There are two separate things to keep in mind.

In the parks, e-cigarettes are banned just like ordinary cigarettes, under Disney’s park rules.

The law of 1 July 2025, on the other hand, covers tobacco and doesn’t apply to vaping. Extending it to e-cigarettes has been mentioned for the future, but at the time of writing no such rule has been confirmed as in force.

Frequently asked questions

01 Can you vape at Disneyland Paris?

No, not in the parks. E-cigarettes are banned there just like cigarettes, under Disney’s park rules. You can, however, vape in the outdoor areas of the resort, such as Disney Village or around the hotels.

02 Can you smoke in a queue?

No. The queues are inside the parks, so the smoking ban applies. You have to go to a designated smoking area.

03 Can you smoke at the hotel or on the balcony?

Rooms and covered or enclosed areas of the Disney hotels are non-smoking, vaping included. In the hotels’ outdoor areas, there was no specific ban at the time of publication, but keep away from other guests.
