At Disneyland Paris, you can make your own glass wand at La Boutique de Merlin l’Enchanteur, inside Sleeping Beauty Castle in Fantasyland (Disneyland Park). You design your wand from start to finish: the glass body, three coloured gems chosen from twelve, then the engraving of your choice. A glassblower seals it right in front of you.

Prices start from €49.99, plus €7 for the engraving. It’s a personalised souvenir that kids adore.

Where can you make your own wand at Disneyland Paris?

The activity takes place at La Boutique de Merlin l’Enchanteur, a shop set inside Sleeping Beauty Castle itself, in Fantasyland, at Disneyland Park. It’s the shop run by Arribas, the company that also makes the park’s other engraved glass items.

This article focuses on the wand-making activity. For a full look at the shop and its other products, see Arribas Brothers and La Boutique de Merlin l’Enchanteur, as well as the collectible keys in crystal.

On site, a glassblower (a glass craftsman) works the glass in front of you and seals your wand once it’s filled. It’s this live demonstration that makes the activity worthwhile: you leave with something made before your eyes, not an item taken off a shelf.

The same activity is also offered at Harrington’s Fine China and Porcelains, on Main Street U.S.A., another Arribas shop at Disneyland Park. Merlin l’Enchanteur remains the main experience, inside the castle.

In 2026, the castle is being renovated in phases: the shop stays open, but access may change depending on how the work progresses. Check on site.

How does wand making work, step by step?

Making the wand takes five steps, right in the shop, with help from the team.

Step 1

Choose the glass body

First, you pick the container, in other words the body of the wand. Several glass shapes and colours are available: it’s the base of your wand.

Step 2

Choose three gems

Next, you choose three gems from twelve colours, each with its own meaning (see the table below). The team measures out each gem according to your lucky number (the number you give them, often an age or a date), then mixes them so they’re evenly spread.

Step 3

Fill the wand

You fill the wand with the gems you chose. It’s a fun step: the team whispers a little spell to the child, who says it while filling the wand. Younger kids really love it.

Step 4

Sealing by the glassblower

The glassblower then heat-seals the container in front of you. It needs time to cool before you can collect the wand in its box: the sales assistant usually gives you a ticket with a time to come back.

Step 5

Personalised engraving

Finally, you can have the wand engraved: a first name, a symbol or a short spell. It’s optional, but it’s what makes the souvenir truly personal.

What are the 12 wand gems and what do they mean?

You choose three gems from twelve colours. Each one has a meaning, so you can create a wand that means something to you or your child. Here’s the full list.

My tips

  • A lovely souvenir for kids: they choose the colours, say the spell and leave with something that feels like theirs. Kids help choose and fill the wand, while the glasswork itself is done by the craftsman.
  • Choose gems that mean something: look at the table of meanings before you decide. It’s more meaningful than picking at random.
  • Consider the engraving: a first name or a short spell turns the wand into a personalised gift.
  • Avoid the busiest times: the shop is inside the castle and can get crowded in the middle of the day. It’s calmer in the morning or late in the day, and your collection time comes round faster.
