At a glance

The Rainforest Café shop (officially "Rainforest Café Shop") sits at the entrance to the restaurant of the same name, at the far end of Disney Village. It’s the French version of an American concept summed up by its motto "A wild place to shop and eat": a shop built into an immersive restaurant.

The layout follows the rainforest theme: dense greenery, giant mushrooms at the entrance and an Audio-Animatronic tree called Tracy (or "Tracey Tree"), which moves and talks to visitors. With no themed facade or historical period, the shop feels like a modern-day Amazon jungle.

The range focuses on the Rainforest Café brand rather than Disney franchises: plush exotic animals, figurines of the chain’s mascots (Tuki the elephant, Nile the crocodile, Bamba the gorilla, Cha!Cha! the frog), clothing, American-style T-shirts and caps, stationery and small souvenirs.

What makes it stand out

"A wild place to shop and eat". This French version of the American concept launched in 1994 at the Mall of America lives up to its official motto: a shop built into an immersive restaurant. The layout follows the rainforest theme with dense greenery and giant mushrooms at the entrance, carrying the jungle feel of the restaurant next door into the shop, so you browse under a lively canopy.

History

The Rainforest Café concept was born in February 1994 at the Mall of America in Minnesota, before being bought at the end of 2000 by Landry’s Restaurant Inc., based in Houston, Texas. The Disney Village version keeps the original formula: a shop at the restaurant entrance. The permanent closure of both the shop and the restaurant has been announced for the end of 2026, as part of the Disney Village transformation works.

Your questions about this shop

01 Where can you shop for Disney merchandise at Disneyland Paris?

You have four main options: the shops in Disneyland Park (mainly on Main Street U.S.A. and in each land), the shops in Disney Adventure World, the shops in Disney Village (no park ticket needed) and your hotel shop if you’re staying at an official Disney Hotel. I go through the main shops in my dedicated article.

02 Which shops in Disney Village can you visit without a park ticket?

Yes. Disney Village is free to enter, with no ticket or checks. You’ll find several Disney shops there, including the big World of Disney store, as well as partner brands. It’s the ideal option if you just want to go shopping without paying for park entry.

03 What are the shops’ opening hours?

The shops in the parks roughly follow the parks’ opening hours, often opening a little earlier on Main Street U.S.A. and closing a little later after the night-time show. The Disney Village shops have their own opening hours, usually later into the evening. The exact times are in the Disneyland Paris app.

04 Can you order Disneyland Paris merchandise online?

There’s no official Disneyland Paris online shop. To buy from home, you can go to the Disney Store website (formerly shopDisney), which sells official Disney merchandise and sometimes a few Disneyland Paris-specific products. At the resort, you buy directly in the shops.
