Super Diner: the counter for Reuben sandwiches

The oldest restaurant in the area at Disneyland Paris, in classic American style: hot New York beef sandwiches, melting cheddar and traditional desserts served in a post-war diner car.

At a glance

Super Diner sits in Avengers Campus, at Disney Adventure World, on the former site of the Café des Cascadeurs. The concept draws on retro New York diners (New York being the Avengers’ city), with a backstory linked to Angie, a friend of Peggy Carter.

The decor recalls American style of the 50s, with a vintage sign, a shaded outdoor terrace and a counter looking onto the open kitchen, where dishes are prepared in front of visitors. The building keeps an industrial brick look.

The menu focuses on sandwiches (including shawarma, a nod to the final scene of the first Avengers film) served with salads, with vegetarian and vegan options. It’s quick-service food served at your table, and you can’t book. The restaurant is at the far end of the land, behind the Tower of Terror.

What makes it stand out

A retro 50s American diner. This stainless steel diner car is the oldest building in Avengers Campus. You can enjoy hot Reuben-style sandwiches made with pastrami and melted cheese. Quick service is at the counter, with a few seats and a shaded outdoor terrace.

History

Opened on 20 July 2022 with the launch of Avengers Campus, Super Diner stands on the site of the former Café des Cascadeurs, which opened in 2002 with Walt Disney Studios Park.

The diner car is an original American diner, "The Excellent Diner" (Westfield, New Jersey, 1950s), shipped to Germany in 1995 then bought by Disney and reassembled on site. When the area switched to the Marvel world, only the menu and a few decorative elements were adapted to fit the franchise’s story.

My verdict

Julie
Julie ★★★½☆ 200+ visits since 2023

Super Diner is a quick table-service restaurant in Avengers Campus, inspired by 50s New York diners. Its strength is the immersive retro setting with an open kitchen in full view.

I haven’t tried this restaurant yet. My verdict is based on my research and what I’ve heard from friends and Disney fans. Opened in 2022, it serves sandwiches and salads for around €8, with table service and no booking, which is quite rare at this price. Feedback mentions a slightly out-of-the-way spot in the land, limited capacity and little variety. The 50s diner atmosphere is still its charm.

I recommend it for a quick sit-down meal in a retro atmosphere. Less suited if you want choice or a central location.

Your questions about this restaurant

01 Where can you eat cheaply in the Disneyland Paris parks?

To keep costs down, go for the quick-service counters rated €. Casey’s Corner serves hot dogs on Main Street, Café Hyperion does burgers and nuggets in Discoveryland, Colonel Hathi’s Outpost Restaurant serves pizza slices in Adventureland, and Cowboy Cookout Barbecue in Frontierland is still a good deal. Over at Disney Adventure World, Stark Factory and Super Diner remain affordable. Tip: Mobile Order (Click & Collect) in the app also lets you order at some counters without having to queue. And if you’re a bit peckish, a snack (waffle, churros, ice cream) for €5 to €10 does the job nicely.

02 Are there kids’ menus in the Disney restaurants?

Yes, almost all Disneyland Paris restaurants offer a child price (ages 3-11). In the all-you-can-eat buffets, children pay around half price: Agrabah Café at €25, Cape Cod at €25, La Cantina at €20. Classic table-service restaurants also have a children’s set menu with a suitable starter, main course and dessert. At the quick-service counters, you’ll find kids’ set meals with a drink and a dessert included. You can ask for a high chair when you book, using the "special request" field.

03 Are there vegetarian and vegan options in the Disneyland Paris restaurants?

Yes, more and more Disneyland Paris restaurants offer vegetarian and vegan options. The Lucky Nugget Saloon in Frontierland serves a full vegan set menu, and Toad Hall Restaurant in Fantasyland has really nice breaded plant-based crispy bites. Most other table-service restaurants and buffets have at least one vegetarian dish on the menu. Simpler buffets such as Agrabah Café or Cape Cod also offer meat-free alternatives. To check the details, download my free file by email with all the Disneyland Paris restaurant menus: that way you can spot the veggie options before your visit.

04 How much does a meal cost at Disneyland Paris?

Prices vary a lot depending on the type of restaurant. As a rough guide (prices change), allow around €15 to €25 per adult at a quick-service counter (€), €30 to €50 at a classic table-service restaurant (€€), and €60 and over at the premium buffets or signature restaurants (€€€ and €€€€). To give you some concrete benchmarks: the Agrabah Café buffet is €45 per adult / €25 per child, Cape Cod €45 / €25, La Cantina €35 / €20. Character dining set menus such as Auberge de Cendrillon go up to €60-95 per adult. For snacks (ice cream, waffle, churros), allow €5 to €10. These ranges are approximate, and you can check the exact price on each restaurant’s menu.
