At a glance

Cool Post is a takeaway snack counter in Adventureland, in Disneyland Park, close to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, opposite Colonel Hathi’s Outpost Restaurant and near Hakuna Matata.

The setting is an African jungle supply post, with a hut-shaped structure, a thatched roof, colourful lanterns and a signpost pointing to Zanzibar, New Guinea or Kathmandu. A soundtrack of tom-tom style drums plays around it.

It’s all about the afternoon snack: waffles (including Mickey head-shaped ones) and cold or hot drinks. You can head to the terraces of Colonel Hathi’s or Hakuna Matata to eat what you’ve bought.

What makes it stand out

Mickey waffles in the bush. This outdoor kiosk takes the shape of an African hut in Adventureland. It specialises in sweet treats: you can buy crispy waffles and cold drinks. With no seating, it’s made for a quick snack on the go during your day in the park.

My verdict

Cool Post is a small takeaway kiosk in Adventureland, with an African savannah theme, dedicated to waffles and drinks. Its big plus is the generous Mickey waffles, perfect for a quick afternoon snack.

I’ve eaten here several times and even though the waffles are only reheated on site, they’re still very good, for around €8. The kiosk, open since 2005, has no seating of its own, but the terrace of Colonel Hathi’s right next door is a good place to sit down. A little secret for the curious: take a look at the cool box sitting nearby. The choice is limited and sweet only.

I recommend it for a quick waffle break between two rides. Less suited if you want a savoury meal or somewhere to sit right there.

Your questions about this restaurant

01 Where can you eat cheaply in the Disneyland Paris parks?

To keep costs down, go for the quick-service counters rated €. Casey’s Corner serves hot dogs on Main Street, Café Hyperion does burgers and nuggets in Discoveryland, Colonel Hathi’s Outpost Restaurant serves pizza slices in Adventureland, and Cowboy Cookout Barbecue in Frontierland is still a good deal. Over at Disney Adventure World, Stark Factory and Super Diner remain affordable. Tip: Mobile Order (Click & Collect) in the app also lets you order at some counters without having to queue. And if you’re a bit peckish, a snack (waffle, churros, ice cream) for €5 to €10 does the job nicely.

02 Are there kids’ menus in the Disney restaurants?

Yes, almost all Disneyland Paris restaurants offer a child price (ages 3-11). In the all-you-can-eat buffets, children pay around half price: Agrabah Café at €25, Cape Cod at €25, La Cantina at €20. Classic table-service restaurants also have a children’s set menu with a suitable starter, main course and dessert. At the quick-service counters, you’ll find kids’ set meals with a drink and a dessert included. You can ask for a high chair when you book, using the "special request" field.

03 Are there vegetarian and vegan options in the Disneyland Paris restaurants?

Yes, more and more Disneyland Paris restaurants offer vegetarian and vegan options. The Lucky Nugget Saloon in Frontierland serves a full vegan set menu, and Toad Hall Restaurant in Fantasyland has really nice breaded plant-based crispy bites. Most other table-service restaurants and buffets have at least one vegetarian dish on the menu. Simpler buffets such as Agrabah Café or Cape Cod also offer meat-free alternatives. To check the details, download my free file by email with all the Disneyland Paris restaurant menus: that way you can spot the veggie options before your visit.

04 Where can you get an afternoon snack or a quick bite in the parks?

The parks are full of kiosks and snack stands for when you’re a bit peckish. For something sweet, there’s Cookie Kitchen on Main Street U.S.A., March Hare Refreshments in Fantasyland, waffle and churros stands just about everywhere, and roaming popcorn and ice cream sellers. For something savoury, the hot dogs at Casey’s Corner. Allow €5 to €10 per snack. Little tip: some stands sell reusable collectible popcorn buckets that make lovely souvenirs and give you refills at a reduced price all day.

05 How much does a meal cost at Disneyland Paris?

Prices vary a lot depending on the type of restaurant. As a rough guide (prices change), allow around €15 to €25 per adult at a quick-service counter (€), €30 to €50 at a classic table-service restaurant (€€), and €60 and over at the premium buffets or signature restaurants (€€€ and €€€€). To give you some concrete benchmarks: the Agrabah Café buffet is €45 per adult / €25 per child, Cape Cod €45 / €25, La Cantina €35 / €20. Character dining set menus such as Auberge de Cendrillon go up to €60-95 per adult. For snacks (ice cream, waffle, churros), allow €5 to €10. These ranges are approximate, and you can check the exact price on each restaurant’s menu.
