At a glance
Star Traders is the Star Wars shop of Disneyland Park, in Discoveryland at the exit of the Star Tours ride.
Its exterior looks like a spaceship inspired by the saga, and inside the theming carries on in a futuristic cabin: metal fittings, blue and red neon lights, bulkheads and light panels. A detail to look out for: a Donald figure perched on a star, a remnant of the shop’s old general theme.
Two exclusive workshops are what it’s known for: the Droid Factory, where you build your own miniature droid from the parts of your choice, and a lightsaber customisation counter. A LEGO Star Wars area with sets from the saga sits at the back of the shop.
The rest of the range covers clothing and accessories for adults and children, T-shirts, sweatshirts, costumes, collector figures (Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Grogu, BB-8, R2-D2, Mandalorians), Grogu (Baby Yoda) soft toys, helmets, daggers, toys, pins, homeware, food and drinks, plus the Disney PhotoPass+ service.
Droid Factory and a made-to-measure lightsaber workshop. The shop offers two exclusive workshops: the Droid Factory, where you build your own miniature droid from dozens of parts to choose from, and a counter for customising your own lightsaber. A LEGO Star Wars corner with sets from the saga completes the visit, in a setting that recreates the inside of a spaceship.
What you’ll find
History
Star Traders started out as a general Disney shop, and the Donald figure perched on a star in the decor is still a reminder of it. The move to Star Wars stepped up when the Jedi Training Academy arrived at Videopolis, before the shop was given over entirely to the saga.
Theme & story
Who it’s for
Pros and cons
Strong points
- Biggest Star Wars shop in Disneyland Park
- Droid Factory to build your own miniature droid
- Lightsaber customisation workshop
Weak points
- Heavy crowds as people come off the Star Tours ride
- High prices for collector figures and lightsabers
- Star Wars products only
My verdict
The Star Wars shop worth seeing, even if you skip Star Tours. The theming is incredibly detailed: you really step inside a spaceship, neon lights and metal bulkheads included.
And on the shelves, the range goes beyond simple souvenirs: some pieces are true collector’s items (helmets, figures, lightsabers to customise). Fans rarely leave empty-handed.

Best time to visit

Your questions about this shop
01 Where can you shop for Disney merchandise at Disneyland Paris?
You have four main options: the shops in Disneyland Park (mainly on Main Street U.S.A. and in each land), the shops in Disney Adventure World, the shops in Disney Village (no park ticket needed) and your hotel shop if you’re staying at an official Disney Hotel. I go through the main shops in my dedicated article.
02 Can you shop without carrying your bags all day?
Yes. The Shopping Service lets you have your purchases sent to a collection point, to pick up later in the shop, or as you leave the park in another shop, or even in the shop at your Disney Hotel. The service is free in most shops (above a minimum spend). Just ask the sales assistant when you pay.
03 What are the shops’ opening hours?
The shops in the parks roughly follow the parks’ opening hours, often opening a little earlier on Main Street U.S.A. and closing a little later after the night-time show. The Disney Village shops have their own opening hours, usually later into the evening. The exact times are in the Disneyland Paris app.
04 Can you order Disneyland Paris merchandise online?
There’s no official Disneyland Paris online shop. To buy from home, you can go to the Disney Store website (formerly shopDisney), which sells official Disney merchandise and sometimes a few Disneyland Paris-specific products. At the resort, you buy directly in the shops.
05 Where can I buy a Star Wars lightsaber at Disneyland Paris?
Lightsabers are mainly sold at Star Traders, at the exit of Star Tours in Discoveryland, but also at Disney Wonders and Mickey’s of Hollywood. You’ll find everything from toy models for kids to more elaborate collector’s sabres. Good to know before you come: there’s no workshop to build your own sabre or droid in Paris, as these experiences are only offered in the American parks.
