2023 was the first year of the Disneyland Pass range, and with it came private parties reserved for its holders (and for annual passholders too).
Three nights punctuated the year, all at Disneyland Park and all priced at €55: Disneyland Park Adventures on 10 March, Villainous Night on 29 September and Christmas Night on 30 November. Each had its own theme, show programme and new features, in a park closed to the public and so much calmer than during the day.
I went to most of these nights and I take you through each one below, night by night. If you’re looking instead for how these nights work (booking, early access, entry wristband), head to the guide to Disneyland Pass Nights. Here, it’s all about the programme of each 2023 edition.

The three 2023 Disneyland Pass Nights at a glance.
Disneyland Park Adventures: the range’s very first night
On 10 March 2023, Disneyland Park closed to the public for the very first night of the Disneyland Pass range. The common thread was a giant treasure hunt across the five lands: you collected clues on a virtual map (QR codes, riddles spoken, sung or written depending on the area) to piece together mystery words. It was the heart of the event, rather than just a backdrop.
- Pirates & Princesses opening Central Plaza, at around 21:05
- Disney Classics Celebration Videopolis Theater, built around the great Disney films of the 1990s (Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King)
- The Jungle Book Jive: We’re On Our Way! Le Théâtre du Château
- Final reveal Central Plaza, at around 1:45
1990s nostalgia set the tone for this first edition. Rather than classic meet and greets with scheduled photos, the characters roamed freely around their own worlds, so you could bump into rarer faces like Meeko or Kenai. The night welcomed around 6,000 annual passholders, less than 10% of the park’s capacity, which meant very short queues.
- Restaurants open Restaurant Hakuna Matata, Café Hyperion and Market House Deli
- Shops open Emporium, Boardwalk Candy Palace, Disney Clothiers Ltd, Main Street Motors, Constellations, Flora’s Unique Boutique, New Century Notions, Thunder Mesa Mercantile Building

Villainous Night: the villains take over
For the range’s second night, Disneyland Paris handed Disneyland Park over to the Disney villains for one night, under the name Villainous Night. It was the range’s first Halloween-themed edition, and the park had taken on a dark, sinister look. You could get in from 18:45 to collect your wristband, before the festivities kicked off at 21:45. At the time, each passholder could bring just one guest to this party.
The opening ceremony set the tone straight away: the crowd was expecting the usual tune of "Dream… and Shine Brighter!", but it was cut short by the arrival of Maleficent, surrounded by several villains as well as Betty Rose and Jimmy Ocean. This show kicked off the big new feature of the edition: a hunt across the park to find 27 hidden artefacts, to be logged in a sticker book handed out for the occasion.
- The Opening Ceremony Central Plaza, 21:45
- The Parade from Hell (with Cruella) Videopolis, 22:40, 23:30, 00:20 and 1:10
- The Ball of Cursed Souls Le Théâtre du Château, 23:10, 00:00 and 00:45
- The Maleficent Finale Central Plaza, 2:00
The other highlight was the presence of rare characters you never see on regular days. Photos and autographs with them weren’t allowed, but bumping into them along the paths was well worth it:
- Hades Hercules
- Lady Tremaine flanked by Anastasia and Drizella
- The Evil Queen Snow White
- Dr. Facilier The Princess and the Frog
- Henry Ravenswood Phantom Manor, with his daughter Melanie
The atmosphere was carefully crafted right down to the lands. Frontierland had turned into a haunted Wild West with wandering cowboys, while Adventureland was overrun with zombies. Costumed performers popped up at any moment, and the lighting turned every corner into a horror film set.
- Attractions 16 attractions running during the night, including Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Les Voyages de Pinocchio, Phantom Manor and Hyperspace Mountain. Very short queues (5 minutes for Big Thunder Mountain on the night of the event).
- Restaurants 5 restaurants open during the night, including Colonel Hathi’s and Café Hyperion. On the other hand, no snack stands (no popcorn or sweet treats that night).

The programme handed out to members that night. An official Disneyland Paris document, kept here for the record.
Christmas Night: the festive party
To close this first year of Disneyland Pass Nights, Disneyland Park opened its gates on 30 November 2023 for a Christmas theme, from 21:15 to 2:00 in the morning, with early access from 18:00. Members could invite up to 2 guests, on named tickets. The programme was built around 5 shows and over 50 Disney characters.
- Disney Enchanted Christmas opening ceremony Central Plaza, 21:15
- Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade! Videopolis, 21:45, 22:45, 00:30 and 1:30
- Mickey and the Wonder of Winter Le Théâtre du Château, 22:00, 23:30 and 1:00
- Beauty and the Beast: A Tale as Old as Time Central Plaza, 23:00 and 00:15
- The Enchanted Christmas Ball Central Plaza, 2:00
What was new this time: the treasure hunt of the previous nights gave way to a trail of 21 character meeting spots spread across the park, designed to give you as many encounters as possible, some of them with rarer characters. Artificial snow added to the atmosphere throughout the night.
- Attractions Most attractions were open until midnight, with shorter queue times.
A discounted price was offered to visitors with reduced mobility: tickets at 25% off were available on the day of the event for the person concerned and 1 companion, with no advance booking. Any additional companion paid the standard €55.
